The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is a national survey of freshmen and seniors designed to measure the extent to which those students are engaged in educationally effective practices. The survey was launched in 2001, and GVSU has participated in 2005, 2007, and 2010. The survey measures engagement in five broad areas, plus self-assessments of growth and satisfaction.
